KABBALAT SHABBAT PROGRAM - Friday, August 7, at 6:30 PM until ~7:00 PM.
We are very pleased to once again invite you to join our new virtual "Kabbalat Shabbat' program today, Friday, August 7, at 6:30 PM until approximately a little after 7:00 PM. Once again, we will not be halachically accepting/beginning Shabbat during the program. It will start with a very brief Dvar Torah which I will share. Then, we will have the pleasure once again to listen to Sruly Beylus, whom we have had the pleasure to listen to a number of times on 'zoom', as well as enjoy 'davening' with many times in the past, including during the High Holidays. Sruly will sing and lead us with the introductory chapters of 'Kabbalat Shabbat' from Tehillim, beginning first with 'Yedid Nefesh', and continuing into 'Lechu Neranena'....We thank Sruly for helping to make this Shabbat more enjoyable and meaningful.

We are all welcome to recite, or sing, the 'Kabbalat Shabbat' as well, following Sruly's lead. For technical reasons related to 'zoom', however, we will all be on 'mute', and only able to hear Sruly. He will continue through 'Lecha Dodi' until, but not including, the last stanza of 'Boi Ve'shalom'. The reason for this, once again, is that the consensus of rabbinic authorities is that the recitation of the last stanza of 'Lecha Dodi' -'Boi Ve'shalom'- constitutes an automatic acceptance/initiation of Shabbat, which would prohibit us from activities such as using technology for audio/visual connections.

After that point, the program will conclude, and everyone will resume their own 'davening' at their discretion. Candle lighting can certainly take place anytime after the program.

Earliest candle lighting: 6:34 PM
Zman candle lighting 7:42 PM.
